The two teams, regarded as the country’s finest, go into the title-deciding match with a maximum 12 points each, having both won all their respective first four games a Kigali Cricket Club (Div1), Kutchi Tigers, Vikings Cricket (Div1) and Right Guards. “We are well-prepared. We have been training hard for this game,” Srinath Vardhineni, Challengers’ player, told Saturday Sport, noting that, as the champions, they will fight with all they got to defend the title. Challengers claimed the title last year after beating Telugu Royals by 18 runs in the final “We want to banish last year’s nightmares. We can’t afford to lose the final (to Challengers) again,” said Telugu Cricket’s Ramu Shreekom. Besides awarding the champion team, there will also be recognised the best batsman, the best bowler, the best fielder and, the Player of the Year.
